New guideline to be developed

The College is required by law to develop and implement practice standards and guidelines for the profession, and to communicate these standards to the public. These standards and guidelines must prioritize patient/client-centred care and safety, and health system priorities. Already the College has developed several patient/client-centred care/service essential competencies and performance indicators.

Now the College is developing a guideline to explain patient/client-centred care/service in the context of kinesiology and to help kinesiologists understand their role in providing patient/client-centred care/service.

How you can help
The College is looking for participants to join two or three, two-hour online working groups (to be scheduled based on your availability) to help develop this new guideline. You will work from the Essential Competencies of Practice and the practice standards to create a guideline that defines patient/client-centred care/service in kinesiology with day-to-day practice illustrations. Access the application form. All applications must be received by Tuesday, February 4, 2020

This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the College’s work and to participate in the growth and recognition of kinesiology as a regulated health profession. If you have any questions, contact Lara Thacker at lara.thacker@coko.ca or (416) 961-7000 ext. 103.
