Why become a Council member?
Serving on Council allows you to:
- Have your voice heard and bring forward valuable perspectives;
- Contribute to key policy and governance decisions; and
- Help guide the strategic direction of COKO in fulfilling its public protection mandate.
If you are interested in contributing to public health and well-being by supporting the effective regulation of the kinesiology profession, consider putting your name forward. You may also nominate a colleague who demonstrates strong leadership and a commitment to professional excellence.
Competency-based eligibility and selection process
To support strong governance, continuity, and sustainability, COKO has adopted a Council and Committee Competency Profile. The profile outlines the knowledge, skills, judgment, attitudes, and experience required for effective service, and clearly distinguishes the competencies needed for Council and committee members.
The profile is used in a variety of ways to support best governance practices, including assessing the eligibility and suitability of individuals seeking election to Council and/or appointment to a committee.
Council Orientation Module
All candidates are required to complete an online Council Orientation Module to run in the election.
All eligible registrants will receive a separate email with detailed instructions on how to submit nominations and vote. Stay tuned!
